The Light of Christ Illumineth All

On the eve of the Paschal mystery, the priest, bearing the Paschal candle, proclaims:
“The light of Christ which illumineth all”.

We are drawn to the light. Whether it is the flicker of a candle flame, fireflies in the garden, or the effulgence of the sun, the light attracts us. Many of humanity’s great works, such as Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, Dante’s Divine Comedy, and even C.S. Lewis’ Last Battle, envision human life as an ascent towards the light. Education properly understood is not simply an imparting of information, but an awakening to the light. To educate is to awaken, to lead, and to inspire.

Classical Christian education is unwavering in the conviction that “the world is charged with the goodness of God”. This ancient-based and time-tested approach to education is designed to nurture wonder and direct students toward knowledge, wisdom, and virtue.

It is our honor to invite students into our school community and to offer an academic discipline that is ordered and enriched with a schedule of common arts and spiritual practice. By pointing students towards the Light of Christ and the wisdom of the ages we will not only prepare them for the world but help them flourish in their Orthodox Christian journey.

Enrichment

Often referred to as Common Arts or service arts, our Enrichment program is intended to introduce students to a variety of culinary, athletic, artistic, domestic, and service-oriented pursuits to round out their lives as children of God and members of society.

Liturgics

Liturgics inform our culture and academics as a school and as Orthodox Christians in the world.  Students will have a chance to pray and worship together every day, as well as participate in catechism and scripture studies, learn hymnography, iconography, and study the lives of the saints.

Classical Curriculum

We offer an academically rich program focused on forming the whole child. Our classical curriculum harmoniously blends Orthodox spiritual and authentic learning. Through the prayerful study of nature, the liberal arts, and the classics, students learn to reverence beauty, model goodness, and delight in Truth.
